Die Aquarelle aus der Serie „girlgroup“
verweisen teilweise auf historische Gemälde und zum Teil auf Fotos, die den aktuellen Medien entnommenen wurden oder aus dem persönlichen Fundus der von Annette Wirtz stammen. Die „earthgirls“ basieren auf Porträts, die „spacegirls“ auf Bildern von Madonnen und Heiligen. Alle Aquarelle der Serie „girlgoup“ thematisieren den Schönheitsbegriff im Verlauf der vergangenen Jahrhunderte bis heute.

The watercolors from the “girl group” series
refer partly to historical paintings and partly to photos taken from current media or from the artist’s personal collection. The “earthgirls” are based on portraits, the “spacegirls” on images of Madonnas and saints. All watercolors in the „girlgoup“ series address the concept of beauty over the past centuries up to the present day.
